Looks like you picked up some goodies. I'll be interested to see how the leds work for supplemental/actinic lighting. One of the "knocks" I've read about the AI Sol led's I've planned for my upgrade is they need something more in the red spectrum. One of those magenta and white strips may be just the trick.

What are your other options to getting the stand welded and powder coated? What about contacting a welding shop directly? I can dig up more pictures of my stand for you to show them.

I am going to leave the use of any chop saw and jack hammer use to the professionals. I had to do some chipping around the pool coping a few years ago and it is for the birds.

Nice, just got an idea for how I want to run my filter socks! I really should do a post about my progress sometime later today. I've managed to do some plumbing on my build and gotten the glass portion of the overflow installed. I also got my uncle to let me use his CNC router... for free! Too awesome!!

I would upgrade to the newer one personally. Adding parts or trying to assemble it to look like the beast is a task, plus everything would be brand new.

Speaking of sexy, is there an upgrade kit to turn the original RODI system into the bigger beast? Or do you have to order the whole shebang?

I am not sure why, but the last few blog entries have went to crap when I try posting or previewing. What I mean is the paragraph and picture spacing goes to hell and I have to edit it to correct it.

I'll be making the cover to go over the over flow. It looks like on the drawing there is a eurobrace on the overflow end of the tank. Henry and Marc you are welcome to come out and personally supervise the setup.

I've not even finished my 75 and I'm getting that tank envy feeling again. ;-) Atleast I get to live my tank dreams vicariously through you guys' tanks.

I like that layout. Should be a really nice tank. Four drains instead of five, I see. I'd recommend a eurobrace across the overflow teeth area, which my tank doesn't have and may not need. It would just make me feel better. And a cover for the drain section, to keep algae out.

Ah yes, that's certainly one thing I didn't do - siphon out the cyano ahead of time. I wouldn't say my cyano had reached plague proportions by any means, but it may be the difference maker in our experiences.

any time I ever ran Chemiclean I would dose have the recommended amount and get great results with no visible changes in water quality followed after 72 hours with a large water change, but before doing that I would always try and manually remove all of the cyano I could so when it all melts away it would reduce the amount of bad stuff it released into the water column. When I still had a RBTA (died during tank relocation) it never showed any signs of distress during the treatment and the same goes for all of my inhabitants including CUC and shrimp

I forgot to mention that all of the Cyano disappeared over the course of the next couple of days. I guess my point was supposed to be that in my experience (sample size of 1) the cyano doesn't have to be visibly gone or "dead" before you turn your skimmer back on and start your water change. If things look bad, I wouldn't wait 72 hours before skimming. My other poorly made point is that I don't think spawning is an indication of good water quality and that my tank got visibly stressed - though I didn't have any losses. The last thing is that I'm not good at making points late at night.
