Questions - Need some input

So I finally got me a alk test from Selifert. I tested all the parameters I have test kits for. Here is what I got:

SG 1.25
ammonia 0
nitrite 0
nitrate >5ppm
Calcium 300ppm
alk <14 dkh
Magnesium No test kit yet

Alright, so I got all my auto top off parts in yesterday. I have some 1/4" acrylic and I want to cut a 2" wide strip and make two bends in it to make the bracket for the float switches. I have a propane torch that I was thinking of using to heat up the material. Would this be alright?

will super glue work on acrylic at all. My dumb but dropped my skimmer cup and a triangle piece broke from it gonna try to order new one but I don't have weld on or know where to get some locally.
